Fishtank Student imports your class roster directly from Google Classroom or Clever. This means that student names, class enrollment information, and co-teachers are all pulled from your connected rostering platform and cannot be edited directly in Fishtank Student.
If changes are made in Google Classroom or Clever, you'll need to re-sync your class roster in Fishtank Student to ensure those updates are reflected.
Before you re-sync
Before re-syncing your roster in Fishtank Student, please verify the following:
- The student is enrolled in the correct class in Google Classroom or Clever.
- The student's email address is correct in Google Classroom or Clever.
Note: Fishtank Student pulls this information directly from your connected rostering platform, so any changes must first be made in Google Classroom or Clever before re-syncing your roster.
How to re-sync your class roster
- Click your profile icon bubble in the upper-right corner of the screen and select Manage Classes.
- Select Sync with Google or Sync with Clever, depending on how you originally imported your class.
- Allow a few moments for the sync to complete, then refresh the page to verify that your updated roster appears in Fishtank Student.
My student's information is incorrect. What should I do?
Because Fishtank Student mirrors the information in your connected rostering platform, any updates to a student's name, email address, or class enrollment must first be made in Google Classroom or Clever.
Once the changes have been made, re-sync your class roster using the steps provided in this article to update the student's information in Fishtank Student.
Still missing students?
If you've confirmed that the student is enrolled in the correct Google Classroom or Clever class and you've re-synced your roster, but the student still does not appear in Fishtank Student, please contact our Support team at support@fishtanklearning.org.
